  • Spinning Babies® is a physiological approach to preparing for birth that focuses on balancing the body's soft tissues to make it easier for the baby to rotate through the pelvis during childbirth. Body balancing aims to align the uterus, pelvis, muscles, and ligaments so that the baby can move through the pelvis more easily. By addressing physical imbalances, this method can enhance mobility, reduce pregnancy discomfort, and support a smoother, more efficient labor and delivery experience.

Some techniques that can facilitate body balancing include:

    • Side-lying Release

    • Side body Opener

    • Rebozo Manteada

    • Standing Sacral Release

    • Abdominal Release

    • Diaphragmatic Release

    • Dip the Hip

    • Pelvic Tilt

    • Psoas Release

  • A Breech Release is a process-oriented, non-invasive approach to supporting mothers carrying babies in the breech position by encouraging natural rotation to a head-down position. This gentle technique focuses on releasing tension in the mother’s soft tissues, balancing the pelvis, and creating space and supple tissues for the baby. By addressing potential root causes of a breech presentation, a Breech Release creates optimal conditions for the baby to rotate naturally and comfortably.

One key component of this approach is the Placeholder Technique, a method that uses gravity and strategic positioning to guide the baby’s movement. The mother is placed on a slant board, allowing gravity to gently lift the baby’s bottom out of the pelvis while encouraging rotation without force. This technique blocks the space the baby come out of and utilizes three-dimensional movement and gravity to create a pathway for baby.

Breech Release complements external cephalic version (ECV), a medical procedure to manually turn the baby, by preparing the mother’s body through soft tissue release and nervous system relaxation. Ideally performed by 34-36 weeks of pregnancy, earlier sessions can address underlying imbalances to support optimal positioning. Body Balancing offers benefits even earlier in pregnancy by addressing underlying imbalances. This process-oriented care honors the natural alignment of the body, providing a gentle, supportive path for both mother and baby.
